Top secret technology image  Technology is always evolving rapidly.  It’s always important to stay ahead of the next best thing, or at the very least, make sure you are keeping pace.  I have found that most marketing teams prefer sprinting after it when needed.  Years ago, this was a daunting task.  I’ve personally spent countless hours huddled over a cup of coffee at the local Barnes and Nobles. All while trying to read the latest digital marketing secrets, without having to buy the expensive literature like a secret agent.

cheese of technology success image  The internet has changed the struggle for all of us.  With just the click of a mouse, or a quick blurb into our smartphones, the free tools are endless.  Throughout my journey in this vast landscape of technology, I have found several resources that I will share below.  Each one of these outstanding sources has helped me to rapidly gain insights into difficult subjects.  Furthermore, they have provided the necessary certifications to prove your knowledge.  Those fancy pieces of paper will help you to stand head and shoulders above others in your field.  Above all, they will most certainly decide who qualifies when it’s time to decide who gets paid.

Certified technology image  This list is composed of several companies that are tremendous learning assets.  Because so many new and valuable pieces of technology have surfaced recently, these companies offer excellent certification processes to bring you up to speed quickly.  Social Media, Blogging, App Development, and more, have all become big buzzwords in the industry.  Sure, we have all read articles occasionally, but these courses show you how to unearth the gems deep within the programs.  These classes provide information about your viewer’s habits as well as discovering what networks are best for your audience.  After passing the required courses, you will be able to confidently make those decisions.

They are constantly offering deals for lifetime memberships for the same price that it would cost you for one course elsewhere.  Their instructors offer comedy with real world live conversation on Social Media, Photography, App Development, Sports Nutrition, and a variety of other certifiable courses.

Shaw Academy offers courses for diplomas in digital marketing, photography, nutrition, social media marketing and online reputation management, financial trading, psychology of sales, web design and mobile app development among others.

Hubspot has become a powerhouse in the industry.  Their broad selection of tools will improve your business’s marketing efforts and are constantly expanding.  For savvy marketers on a budget, their certifications are a goldmine.  The Hubspot Academy offers FREE courses on Inbound Marketing, Inbound Sales, and Email Marketing which are well-respected in the technology world and some employers demand them.  Add a few of these certifications to your resume or LinkedIn page, and you will surely outperform your competition.

HubSpot is a company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts that develops and markets a software product for inbound marketing also called HubSpot.

HubSpot was founded by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2006. The company advocates for the inbound marketing concept in its own marketing through viral videos, Twitter, webinars and an annual inbound marketing report.

W3Schools is the defacto standard of learning for all new computer languages in the technology industry.  This free website offers many hands-on tutorials to truly develop an understanding of difficult coding subjects.  HTML5, CSS3, and many other languages can all be mastered using their site.

W3Schools is a popular website for learning web technologies online. Content includes tutorials and references on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, Bootstrap, and jQuery. It receives more than 10 million unique visitors monthly.

Created in 1998, its name refers to the World Wide Web, but is not affiliated with the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium). The site is maintained by Refsnes Data in Norway. W3Schools presents thousands of code examples. By using an online editor, readers can edit examples and execute the code in a sandbox.

Google Analytics and Google AdWords certifications stand out as prominent qualifications.  These certifications are provided by their education division, Google Partners.  These fancy titles come with a ton of knowledge that’s demonstrated by taking and passing their exams.  Each test has a ton of videos and literature to aid you in your journey.  As Google continues to expand, they are introducing new certifications along the way.  Set your sights on the Analytics and AdWords certifications early, and your resume will find its way to the top of the stack.

Google Partners, originally Google AdWords Certification Program or Google AdWords Certification, is a Google AdWords partner certification program, providing AdWords qualifications to people and agencies that pass Google’s exams. To become AdWords certified, you’ll need to pass the AdWords Fundamentals exam and one of the other Advanced AdWords exams. i.e. Search Advertising, Display Advertising, Video Advertising, Shopping Advertising, Mobile Advertising.
